The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is an annual fundraiser for the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club wherein big-name interior designers dress up a pricey Manhattan home for touring. This tour (now in it's 38th year) raises scads of money every year. However, there was a hiccup in the process this year. Apparently, the house set for the show was sold (for a reported $19.5 million) and the new owners were not interested in hosting the event.
That left the organization floundering for a place to host the tour (not to mention the fact that many of the designers on the tour had already begun their design plans, shopping etc. for the space they had be given).

The list of designers working on this tour is a true who's who in the design world. Here is a "taste" of what they are capable of (these are projects that some of the designers have recently completed).
